Silver Lake, Kansas (July 19, 2019) – Steve Niemack, President & CEO of Stockgrowers State Bank, announces the purchase of a former bank building in the Silver Lake community. He said, “We are thrilled to extend our footprint into Silver Lake and Shawnee County. This is an exciting opportunity to grow Stockgrowers State Bank and we feel Silver Lake is a great fit for us.” Stockgrowers has served Wabaunsee County since 1906 and in recent years expanded its customer base to include clients in communities throughout the Eastern half of Kansas. The acquisition of the Silver Lake facility will be the first brick and mortar move outside of the county. President Niemack said, “This location is great and will be a big benefit for the number of customers we currently serve in the Rossville, Silver Lake and North Topeka communities.”
While details for operating the new location are not yet finalized, Stockgrowers State Bank is planning to make necessary updates to the facility. Niemack said, “We know the building structure is in good shape, but there are upgrades we are planning to make in order to create a modern and welcoming space.” As the remodel plans are still being determined, President Niemack said, “One idea is to install an ATM at the location to begin serving customers as quickly as possible. Although the trend in banking is moving towards a cashless world, we still see the value in cash when it comes to our communities and customers.”
Stockgrowers State Bank was founded in 1906, in Maple Hill, Kansas. Over the years, they have added branches in Paxico and Alma, Kansas. The new building in Silver Lake will be the fourth Stockgrowers location. Stockgrowers provides reliable financial products to customers across the Flint Hills and Eastern Kansas. Niemack stated, “We love Kansas and our communities because we live here, work here, and play here. No matter what changes might come in the years ahead, we will always be working to provide high quality services and make our customers' banking experience better.”
